What age is PadelTots for?
The first five years of a child's life are critical for developing movement, confidence, communication, and lifelong positive attitudes toward physical activity. PadelTots gives children a fun, positive first experience with sport, helping families discover padel together while inspiring the next generation of players. We offer tailored kids' padel sessions divided into three developmental age groups: PadelTots Tiny (18 Months – 2.5 Years): Introduction to basic motor skills and interactive play. PadelTots Adventurers (2.5 – 3.5 Years): Building coordination, confidence, and early sports skills. PadelTots Explorers (3.5 – 5 Years): Developing foundational padel techniques and teamwork.
Does my child need experience?
: Not at all! PadelTots is a fully inclusive toddler and kids' sports program designed for children aged 18 months to 5 years, and no previous padel or sporting experience is required. Our introductory kids' padel sessions focus entirely on fun, confidence, and active participation. We specialize in creating a positive first experience with movement, interactive play, and padel for every child and family regardless of their starting skill level.
What should my child bring?
Just themselves, a participating adult, and their PadelTots grippy socks! To ensure a safe and fun environment for our toddler and kids' sports classes, please note the following requirements: Adult Participation: All children must be accompanied on the court by a parent, grandparent, or carer. Safety Footwear: For safety reasons, grippy socks are required for all sessions. Don't worry if you don't have them yet—branded socks are available to purchase directly at your local venue or session delivery setting.
Is padel safe for toddlers and young children?
Absolutely. Safety is at the heart of everything we do at PadelTots. Our toddler sports classes are fully structured to ensure a secure, fun environment for your little ones. Here is how we guarantee a safe experience in every session: Qualified Coaches: All of our instructors are fully DBS-checked and hold certified Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid qualifications. Risk Assessments: Every session is backed by a venue-specific risk assessment and a comprehensive health and safety check completed by the coach before play begins. Tailored Equipment: We use specially designed, age-appropriate equipment and a curriculum tailored specifically for children aged 18 months to 5 years. Families can feel completely confident that their children are in safe, professional hands while learning the basics of kids' padel.
Can parents watch?
Absolutely - in fact, we encourage parents, grandparents and carers to be part of the fun! All PadelTots sessions involve a participating adult on court, supporting, encouraging and sharing the experience with their little player as they play, learn and smile together.
WHERE DID PADELTOTS START?
PadelTots was founded in the UK by Jo Patterson, an experienced grassroots coach and sports development professional who recognised a gap in the sport for its very youngest players and their families.
